New members were introduced; Chapter 9 of the US Catholic Catechism was explored; subgroups gave their end of year reports in addition to stating plans for the following year.

Introductions of new Commission members and thanking of exiting members:
Elizabeth Lyle and Jeff Lipp are brand new to the Commission
Several other members this is only their second meeting Nick Abele will be leaving for college and thus is leaving the Commission.

Faith Sharing: Joanne led group through faith sharing of Chapter 9 of US Catholic Catechism.

Commission members spent extended time in faith sharing, in everyone introducing themselves and in building fellowship among the Commission members

Subgroup Reports: Subgroups gave wrap up of the past year and plans for next year

Catholic Education - discussed efforts of continuing to bridge between school and ERE program through such programs as combining First Communion prep during this past year and offering programs such as “Advent”ure for this upcoming year

Adult Faith Formation - discussed that upcoming year the efforts of continuing to examine current adult formation programs to determine what needs and niches of the parish are not being met and how areas such as Bible Study, speaker series, parish mission and other programs will fill some of those needs    

Youth Ministry - discussed programs established this past year such as Wednesday night meetings and service projects and how will continue to expand during this upcoming year with re-recruiting for the Leadership team and with programs for junior high

Vocations - discussed how this goal needs to have person driving it and staying with it so more progress can be made on it

Evangelization - discussed that group will be focusing on evangelization within the parish and outside the parish and that next few months will be used to educate the subgroup members on what evangelization is and to formulate plan on how to do it.

Other business: Several members of the Commission either have not gone through Strength Finders or else did so years ago without having their strengths explained to them - thus Rebecca will follow up with Melanie Debrosse, Elizabeth Lyle, Elizabeth Richardson, Jeff Lipp and Scott Stanley to see if they are available to meet with Carol over the summer and fall to go through Strength Finders.

Tuesday, September 2 at 7:30 PM

Location of next meeting will be in Clark’s basement (across the street from the Church) - and perhaps will be there permanently if everyone feels this is a better space

Faith sharing of Chapter 10 of US Catechism will be led by Elizabeth Richardson
