Faith Sharing - Ch 7 of US Catholic Catechism- Maria
Talents Plan Update - Subcommittee will meet on alternate months, looking for progress,
are there any holes
can be run via phone or face to face. Brian will get updates at each FFC meeting
for whatever actions were taken during the off month (from each driver), and
then send an update to Lisa, Sherri, and Don Kruse.
Brian will be I-Team liaison,
and will forward FFC Talents Plan updates every other month (following FFC
meeting) to Parish Pastoral commission as well as Don Kruse. Note:
the Talents Plan update for this meeting has already been sent from
Scott to Don. In future meeting recaps,
Brian will send the meting notes to the FFC members for comment/clarifications,
and then forward the meeting notes along with the Talents Plan update, to the
FFC members, the Pastoral council liaisons, Ruthy Trusler, and to Don Kruse.
Goal 4 - Catholic Education. Terri updated
the group.
Discussion on possibly changing
name of ERE.
Information posted on a
bulletin board in school.
Names of ERE teachers are
posted along with the school teachers, by their rooms. Discussion of possible small group events for
the whole family, and/or for couples.
Goal 5 - Adult Faith Formation. Scott updated the group. Doug Pace and Dan Debrosse involved. Strengths Finder, Why Catholic, hall rack,
website, large and small group opportunities.
Goal 6 - Youth Ministry Maria’s update- most either complete or ongoing. 6B - recreating process for youth team
leader. Recruiting juniors. Meeting this week. Also recruited some adults (meeting
separately with them) since adult’s voices drowned out. Doug Pace expressed interest in helping with
this, possibly, at least in helping with organization or acting as a sounding
board, to help out Maria. Maria will be
touching base with Doug. Maria and Nick
on subgroup, with 2 parents. Item 6C -
Service being covered, Maria unsure of discernment, as to what this means. Also unsure of stewardship (just active roles
in parish??). Opportunities to use their
time and talents to stay involved in parish (i.e. festival or other things they
do with councils). Per Nick, keeping
people involved in parish activities.
Carlene suggestion to keep “relationship” with the parish active, as the
kids graduate and go on to high school
perhaps as a mentoring relationship with
higher schoolers (the grade school kids look up to the high schoolers).
Goal 7 - Vocations (
Goal 8 - Evangelization - (Rebecca) - Getting Carlene and Joanne
involved. 3rd objective needs to be
reformulated, getting a few commission members and parish members
involved. St. Columban parish has not
been involved with the ecumenical services program that other Loveland churches
have been involved with. Perhaps getting
more involved with a food pantry or some other objective? Rebecca has several ideas that may tie into
Adult faith Formation (collaboration potential??). Note this is an example where any of the 5
goals can overlap and work collaboratively with any of the other goals. Or perhaps there are other areas within the
parish that this commission can get involved with.
Other Items
Brainstorming moved to next
meeting due to a lack of time at this meeting.
Next meeting March 4th at
7:30pm.
Maureen will lead discussion
of Chapter 8 of the US Catholic Catechism.
