Saint Columban

Youth

This is what is needed: a Church for young people, which will know how to speak to their heart and enkindle, comfort, and inspire enthusiasm in it with the joy of the gospel and the strength of the Eucharist; a Church which will know how to invite and to welcome the person who seeks a purpose for which to commit his whole existence; a Church which is not afraid to require much, after having given much; which does not fear asking from young people the effort of a noble and authentic adventure, such as that of following the Gospel.

 – Pope John Paul II, 1995 World Day of Prayer for Vocations

E.R.E.

Elementary Religious Education (ERE) provides Catholic education for students in grades 1–8 who attend a school that does not offer Catholic education.

High School

St. Columban also provides religious and spiritual support for High School students with hands-on experiences and thoughtful group discussion. SMILE meetings and retreats offer a break for busy students to reflect on their lives, get to know their peers, and have quite a bit of fun along the way.

Junior High

Our activities for students in the Junior High grades are intended to supplement religious education at school or from ERE with real-life experiences.

Preschool

The Preschool Religious Education Program provides “religious readiness” for preschool- and Kindergarten-age children. Its purpose is to extend, enrich and encourage the work already begun by parents.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is a fun and exciting week full of Bible stories, games, crafts, and snacks for students in Preschool through fifth grade. See other Vacation Bible School sections for the current registration form and adult and student volunteer opportunities. The 2007 theme is The Great Bible Reef. School will be offered July 9-13 and is open to all potty-trained 3 year old preschoolers to 5th graders. Registration is due June 10. Any questions, please call the Parish Office: 683-0105.
