Some questioned the need for a mission statement and saw all parishes as having the same one. However, many ideas for the St. Columban mission statement were generated in the following categories:
· Keep it short, brief, easy to remember, relevant
· Include faith formation
· Include prayer and worship
· Include community
· Include service elements
