The following are steps parishioners believe should be taken in 4-8 years.
Action Steps for the Next Four to Eight Years
Three things which surfaced throughout the report have surfaced again:
· Build a gym, parish center, offices, library, kitchen (50%)
· Finish the undercroft with an elevator (16%)
· Do something about a playground (11%)
· Other things noted include parking, building a high school, converting open space in the school into classrooms, improving school facilities
B. Liturgical Life
The same issues surfaced as noted in the 1-3 year plan
C. Education/Formation
The same issues surfaced with the addition or more emphasis on such things as:
· Provide for special needs education
· Begin a preschool and kindergarten
· Improve youth ministry
· Have young adult groups
· Have a music program
· Have foreign language
D. Personnel/Human Resources
Some new ideas which surfaced here include:
· Develop a more active parish council
· Empower the laity
· Find out about married priests
· Keep Fr. Larry
· Provide leadership training for future administration
E. Finances
Much of what surfaced here, was a duplication of what had been stated many times in the feedback including:
· Provide financial assistance for school families
· Focus on debt reduction to be fiscally sound
· Have a fund drive for a new playground
F. Community Building
Much of what surfaced here was a duplication of what had been stated many times in the feedback. Several new things came up including:
· Welcoming atmosphere
· Outreach to Hispanics
· Use woods for camp out retreats
· Have funeral dinners
· Increase socialization in small communities
