A Worshipping community Since 1859. St. Columban Parish is a Catholic community that follows the Word and Work of Jesus Christ through discipleship, stewardship, and fellowship. It is an understatement to say that our parish has grown significantly since the 1850s, when we were a mission church of St. Andrew in Milford. We have changed, as has the Church universal. Many though we are, we are one body in Christ. We reflect the plurality of our larger church community. Some of us have been here a long time; others have been here a short time. Like the Church throughout the world, we are many but one; like the image of St. Columban in our worship space, we are unfinished. “There is always more to be done – by a prophet, or a painter, or by a parish."

 PTO

Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)

The Parent-Teacher Organization is a vital link of communication between the home and school. This important group promotes goodwill and cooperation within the school community. Through volunteer efforts, fundraisers, and other activities, the P.T.O. gives support to the faculty and principal and provides special programs and materials for the school children.

Parents are urged to join and take an active part in the P.T.O. Some of the many ways to volunteer include participation in the Everybody Counts Program, Hospitality, After-School Programs, Playground volunteer, Magazine Drive, and Campbell's Soup Labels Program to name just a few.

General Assembly meetings are held once a month.

St. Columban Students Honor Veterans Minimize

The 15 year tradition of St. Columban Students walking from their school to the Loveland Veterans Memorial Park continues. Each carrying a flag symbolizing their country pride.
Student Council member Danny Diesel gave an opening tribute speech pointing out that the veterans ask of no special thanks. However, "...we need to care for these American veterans...for many still need to adjust from war experiences, recover from wounds, and overcome hardships." After Diesel introduced Loveland's Mayor Rob Weisgerber, 3 low flying vintage military planes flew over the park leaving trails of white vapor against a clear blue sky. "The planes flying over gives a great sense of pride," said St. Columban teacher Connie Leinberger.
Weisgerber spoke of the importance of having purpose. And, like "...a sheep dog knows his purpose and is willing to be attacked to protect every member of the flock, so too do the members of our armed forces."
Veterans were called forward according to when they served. They were recognized for their service to our country. Student Mary Kay Hieatt played "taps" while other students placed flowers at the base of the flagpoles representing each branch of the service. A wreath was placed at the base of the American Flag. Everyone faced the flag and said the Pledge of Allegiance.
On behalf of St. Columban we wish to thank each veteran for his and her service. "...without you, we wouldn't have peace in this country," said student Quinn Sullivan.
