A Worshipping community Since 1859. St. Columban Parish is a Catholic community that follows the Word and Work of Jesus Christ through discipleship, stewardship, and fellowship. It is an understatement to say that our parish has grown significantly since the 1850s, when we were a mission church of St. Andrew in Milford. We have changed, as has the Church universal. Many though we are, we are one body in Christ. We reflect the plurality of our larger church community. Some of us have been here a long time; others have been here a short time. Like the Church throughout the world, we are many but one; like the image of St. Columban in our worship space, we are unfinished. “There is always more to be done – by a prophet, or a painter, or by a parish."

 Children's Religious Education

Religious Education is available for children of all age levels. If your child does not attend a school where Catholic Education is part of the curriculum, St. Columban offers the following programs:

Elementary Religious Education (ERE):

ERE is designed for grades 1-8.  We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:15 PM. Volunteer catechists teach the classes which run from September to May. We use the Call to Faith Series. Families who join the parish throughout the year are welcome to join at anytime.

Basic Knowledge Checklist-includes the prayers and concepts that your child should know by each grade level. We ask that the parents work on these prayers and concepts at home as well as in school.

Preschool Religion (PRE)

Preschoolers of ages 3,4, and 5 and Kindergartners who do not attend a Catholic School can attend classes on Sunday mornings during the 9:45 AM mass.  This program is taught by volunteer Catechists.   The kindergartners are the Call To Faith Series. Three year olds must be three and potty trained by September 30, 2011.
