Social Action Commission Minutes
St. Columban's Social Action is working on Twinning Goal Nine, headed up by Amy Hoffman and Mariam Meyer. The commission came up with the definition of twining: A coming together of our parish with an active, mutual and on-going faith commitment with the Ugandan Martyrs Church Parish in Uganda Africa. The committee will meet on the second Thursday of the month. More details will follow.
Hospitality Goal Three (Objective B) will be followed up at the next meeting. To learn more, please read the January 26, 2010 SAC minutes.
There is interest in a church twinning relationship. The church most interested is the Ugandan martyrs Church. They are very interested in visiting back and forth and in cultural sharing – not financial – not fund raising. We decided that our next step is to form a Twinning Committee. They would then put a 5 year plan into place. Amy Hoffman and Maria Meyer are interested in being on the committee; Chad Drinnen will continue to be the main contact with the sisters. Social Action will be vigilant in looking for candidates for the committee. Want to know more? Be sure to check out the October 2009 minutes.
