A Worshipping community Since 1859. St. Columban Parish is a Catholic community that follows the Word and Work of Jesus Christ through discipleship, stewardship, and fellowship. It is an understatement to say that our parish has grown significantly since the 1850s, when we were a mission church of St. Andrew in Milford. We have changed, as has the Church universal. Many though we are, we are one body in Christ. We reflect the plurality of our larger church community. Some of us have been here a long time; others have been here a short time. Like the Church throughout the world, we are many but one; like the image of St. Columban in our worship space, we are unfinished. “There is always more to be done – by a prophet, or a painter, or by a parish."

Anita Crowder
I am an alumni of St. Columban School and my husband , Rodney, and I were married here in 1998. My past and present parish involvement includes being a RCIA sponsor, 150th Anniversary Committee member, festival booth captain, choir member, Sunday money counter, and a Parish Council Member (liaison to Worship Commission). Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
 Dan DeBrosse
“I bring a positive outlook to life and my faith. I love to learn, develop, and share
my faith with others through Bible Study and Men’s Fellowship. I truly enjoy people
and am very accepting of others – I instinctively look to include those who may be left
out. I have the ability to see potential in others, encourage them, and look to help them
experience success. I am married to Melanie (March 18th, 2000). Our Catholic faith and personal relationship with God is very important to us, along with our marriage and our family. I have worked for 13 years at Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio as an IT Business Leader.”

My wife Cindy and our two sons, Nick and Ken, have been parishioners here at St Columban for about 20 years. Both Nick and Ken attended St. Columban school through all eight years. During my time at St. Columban, I have been a part of many ministries including Parish Music Group, Children's Liturgy of the Word, Worship Commission and the Knights of Columbus.  Presently Cindy and I are part of a ministry called FOCCUS that helps engaged couples prepare for marriage. I have had the privilege of serving on Parish Pastoral Council for the last four years including my duties as the Pastoral Council liaison to Finance Council.  I enjoy meeting people and getting to know them.  I am very open to opinions and perspectives of all parishioners and would do my very best to represent them on Pastoral Council.

My husband Dan and I have 2 girls currently attending St. Columban School. We’ve been a part of the school community for 4 years, and members of the parish for almost 2 years.   As we learn and grow in faith as a family, we are continually amazed at the support, fellowship and closeness of the parish. St. Columban is like family to us, and I am personally touched and blessed to be a part of the Council. I’ve volunteered with the Festival, Grand Affair, and Fish Fry, and currently serve as PTO recording secretary for the school. I’m also a trained Stephen Minister.  My experience being involved with school and church activities helps me to understand the needs of the parish not only as a parishioner, but also as a parent. I’m honored to represent and be a part of a wonderful community of people.
Marianne Hoekzema
I've been a member of St. Columban since 1971. My husband Joe and I have 4 adult children --  all graduates of St. Columban School; we also have 7 grandchildren. This
community has been central in my family’s life. Since joining this community I have made CHRP and Emmamus. I volunteered in school cafeteria and library worked with Boosters and was leader of SMILE high school youth group for 8 years. I was member of parish council and worship committee in the 90’s. I am now a lector, Eucharistic minister and help with Breaking open the
Word. I completed the course JUST FAITH and am a founding and active member of Living Peace and Justice. I have enjoyed my years of growth at St. C’s and am happy to serve our community as your
representative to Parish Council.
Janet Juengling
My husband Charlie and I have been members of St. Columban Parish since 1979. Our four grown children all attended St. Columban School which was an outstanding foundation for high school and college. We also have five lovely grandchildren. I am involved in several ministries - Eucharistic Minister, Wednesday afternoon Scripture class, Martha Ministry, Bread Bakers, and RCIA. I really enjoy all the wonderful people at St. Columban and look forward to meeting many more.
Walter Klein
I am married to Catherine and we have two wonderful daughters Jenny and Sarah. We’ve
been parishioners at St. Columban since a job transfer brought us here in late 2003. I am in the process of transitioning to early retirement from International Paper, where I am a divisional CFO. Gratefully, St. Columban is the best parish we’ve ever experienced – vibrant with spiritual activities, full of dedicated staff and volunteers, and growing. My good fortune has been to volunteer with the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP), and various Festival booths. With career demands easing and children becoming new adults, I’d like to devote more time to our Parish. I bring the career perspective of having worked to continually balance the needs of growth and stability; and a life perspective that values the power of positive teamwork and reaching out to include. I am a CPA.
Paul Madix
My wife Cindy and I have lived in the City of Loveland since 1990 and joined St. Columban parish in 2001. We have two children, Matthew and Sarah who both attend St. Columban School. I have been involved with Parish Council since October 2006 (first started as recording secretary). I am also a liaison to Education Commission and have helped at the parish fish fry and festival. Most of my working career has involved improving processes by listening to the Voice of the Customer. I am very interested in listening to your feedback as to how Parish Council can make St. Columban parish an even better place to worship and grow!
Stefanie McKelvey
I am the oldest daughter of Marina and Phil McKelvey. Our family has been parishioners at St. Columban for 12 years. I am a senior at Loveland High School and a graduate from St. Columban School. After three years later, I stay involved with the school's activities. I have participated in a couple ministries; Eucharistic and Youth ministry. This is my first year on Pastoral Council as the youth representative for our church community. I feel that it is a privilege that I was chosen to be the voice for the children and teenagers. My goal as the youth rep is to gather every young persons' opinion and present it to the Pastor and the council. I enjoy interracting with the church more and the inspirational people that are involved in all the wonderful ministries here at St. Columban Church.
Vincente Santamarina
I was born in Mexico City and moved to Cincinnati almost 9 years ago. My wife, Jannette, and I have 3 great kids -- Alexa, Isabella, and Leonardo. We have been parishioners of St. Columban for 5 years. I attended the Christ Renews his Parish retreat in 2007, where I served as Lay Director. I have recently joined the CHRP Continuation committee and want to be a Spiritual Director for this important event in the future. Jannette and I are facilitators of a community of the Why Catholic? Program since it began in 2007. Previously, I was an active member of the Church in Mexico, especially working with youth groups. I served as the representative of the Catholic Youth Movements with the Mexican Episcopal Commission, was National Coordinator of a Youth Catholic Movement and my wife and I served on the regional board of this same movement.
Outside of Church, I am a manager at P&G’s Research and Development department, an active soccer player and occasional mountain biker. I love good friends, good food, good wine, good movies and good books. I am honored to serve God and my fellow parishioners as a member of our parish.
Julie Wentzel
My husband, Phil, my daughter Sara and I have been a part of the St. Columban community since 2004. My Catholic education has always been a great foundation for my journey and is one of the reasons why we have chosen to send Sara to St. Columban School.  Phil and I are Foster Parents also and have been blessed to have the experience of “babysitting for God.” St. Columban has enriched my life with CRHP, Strengths Finders, “Why Catholic?”, and the incredible people I have met as a result of my involvement in the church and school.  I enjoy being a member of the Parish Pastoral Council and being able to give back to and serve the people in the St. Columban Catholic Community.
