Education Commission
The Education Commission formulates and recommends policies for the administration of the educational programs conducted by St. Columban School, Loveland, Ohio, in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. In the conduct of its affairs this Commission is subject to the regulations that proceed from the Archbishop, the Archdiocesan Commission on Education, and any other person or agency delegated to act with the Bishop’s authority in matters affecting education within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
The Commission meets on the first Tuesday of each month.
Specific Functions and Duties (but not limited to) of the Education Commission
- To develop and recommend policies and programs to the Pastor or appropriate Staff person for the application of the regulations of the Archdiocesan Commission on Education.
- To evaluate the educational activities of parish organizations.
- To review the evaluation studies made by the administrators and to suggest ways of improving the effectiveness of the educational program.
- To advise the pastor and/or principal on the hiring and dismissal of teachers.
- To participate in planning and building committees for new or renovated parish facilities.
- To establish committees, standing or special, according to need.
